5 Dog Friendly Breweries in Northern California

1. Bike Dog Brewing Co.

Bike Dog Brewing, which is located out of West Sacramento is pretty dog friendly as you can tell by their name. West Sacramento’s first brewery and tasting room, they are known for their fresh flavorful beer, small batch recipes, and incredibly detailed tasting list.

                “GooIMG_20150228_204037d People Deserve Good Beer”

is their mantra and boy does it ring true when you visit their tasting room. You will be able to meet the brewers, see how the beer is made, and enjoy a relaxing environment with your furry friend and family member. You can find some of their beers at your local grocery store if you are wanting to try their beer before going out to the tasting room. Open Thursday through Sunday at 2534 Industrial Blvd #110 West Sacramento, CA. Check out their website for all the details and the food truck line- up.

2. Lagunitas Brewing Company

Lagunitas Brewing Company out of Petaluma, CA is one of the coolest breweries in Northern California. With a huge beer garden that is family and pet friendly, it is the place to go for a bite to eat and a delicious pint of beeIMG_20151120_132100r on the weekends.  “Beer SPeaks, People Mumble.”  Lots of things to do when out at the brewery from taking a tour of the facility, to listening to live music out in the beer garden. Get there early because this place gets pretty busy throughout the day. So many options on draft I would recommend sharing a sampler before deciding what beer you’re going to enjoy in a pint. Tons of great merchandise for you and your dogs. You could spend a few hours just shopping. Make a day of it! Open Wednesday through Sunday, located at 1280 N. McDowell Boulevard Petaluma, CA.

3. Fieldworks Brewery

Fieldwork Brewery located at 1160 Sixth Street, Berkeley, CA. A great open facility with the brewery in the back of the building. While you’re drinking your craft beer you can also catch some of the brewery happenings from behind the scenes. Fieldworks is dog and family friendly, 20160627_141749with a great outside patio. If you have never tried their beer before, I would definitely check out the beer samplers before diving into a full glass. Their beers are so delicious and unique you will want to be able to drink your favorite. The draft list is constantly changing with different beers, you will want to take them home to try with your friends. Thankfully  you can purchase your favorite beers in a crowler which is a 32-ounce freshly canned beer from the brewery. Enjoy small bites from the kitchen while relaxing in the cool Berkeley air. Open 7 days a week, check out their website for details of their hours and draft list.

4. Drake’s Dealership

Drake’s Dealership located at 2325 BrIMG_20160627_131509oadway Auto Row, Oakland, CA. Downtown Oakland is becoming the new hub for what is hip and happening in the world of beer, food, and nightlife. Drake’s is a wonderful micro brewery that started in San Leandro and has opened a second location in downtown Oakland. The Dealership has a huge patio that is dog friendly with lots of sun and shade for your choice. They are open 7 days a week and have live music Thursday through Saturday. I would definitely recommend trying one of their wood-ovened pizzas and the Wandering Possum Pale Ale  if still on draft.

5. Berryessa Brewing Co.

Berryessa Brewing is located on Highway 128 just past Winters and headed out towards Lake Berryessa. This brewery is mainly outside with a small tasting room inside where you will grab your delicious pint of choice. Live music, food trucks, and an amazingly fun atmosphere. Family and dog friendly this is the place you want to be on the weekends. Get there early to grab a table in the shade or to get your shot at table Jenga. They have a huge kid area for your little ones to play and jump around while you play corn hole.  Open Thursday through Sunday for now, they may add a few more days to the roster as  it is becoming the popular spot to stop when in the area. Bring a picnic or indulge in some amazing food-truck cuisine.
